Here is a brand new place for my private wine tastings...... its name is Osteria del Cason, a few steps away for the Frari church, one of the highlights of Venice. You won't be disappointed, the owner Riccardo will welcome you and do his best to make you feel at ease. The interior is traditional, as much as the food style and the appetizers. Don't expect a large menu, dishes are accurately selected according to the season and the local taste: home made Gnocchi with meat sauce, Tagliolini with fresh crab sauce, grilled cuttlefish just to mention a few. If you are not that hungty, try the deep fry John Dory appetizers or the delicious "polpette" -meat balls!-
The wine list focussed on regional specialities and reasonably priced.
