Menus from a bygone era when Venice was the most important City in the world help recreate an atmosphere that reveals the tastes and lifestyle of both local aristocracy and the common people at a time when exotic products were used as means of social distinction, seduction, wonder and privilege. Here are some appetizing suggestions:

“The Spices of love” menu was created using ingredients believed to be aphrodisiacs such as truffle and ginger…..As a starter; taste "Canapés made from Vacherin Cheese and White Truffle" get the taste buds wanting more. Whilst "Scampi Ravioli with saffron, lemon and ginger sauce", is an unforgettable main course, and for dessert, "Banana and walnut frozen mousse" or “Chocolate flavoured Coffee mousse with Venetian cookies”, served with sweet wine so popular in the Republic of the Lion, completes a truly memorable meal.

“The fresh Herbs of the Lagoon Islands” menu is a treat for your nose and a tasty selection of springtime recipes. The S. Erasmo island, or the “Venetian farmland”, has provided over the centuries a large amount of fresh vegetables and herbs, still on sale every day in the city markets. Try the “Raw baby artichokes with Red Chicory and Parmesan Cheese chips”, and enjoy the perfect balance of flavours. Go ahead with “Spinach Lasagna with Tomato, Asparagus, peas and scallions”, so colourful and smelly, while “Poached sea bass with green sauce” is a delicacy you will remember for sure. As a dessert, you cannot skip the “Baked cream with mint sauce” or “Blackberry and apple tarts”. Ready to start over again?
